lastingpowersofattorney.org.uk prepares lasting power of attorney documents for England and Wales from the answers you give, and prints and posts them to you ready to sign. You sign them and post them to the Office of the Public Guardian yourself, with the pre-addressed envelope we include. We are a document preparation service. We are not a law firm, we do not give legal advice, and we are not affiliated with any government body.

The documents are only as accurate as the answers given. You confirm the information you provide is true, that the person making the LPA has the mental capacity to do so, and that they are making it of their own free will. The summary step before printing exists so you can check everything; approving it tells us to prepare the documents.

The price you see before paying is the whole price, made of our fee plus the Office of the Public Guardian's registration fee of £92 per LPA, which we pass on in full. Where a fee reduction is granted by the OPG, we refund the difference to your original payment method.

You can cancel for a full refund any time before you approve your summary. After approval we start preparing your documents, and once the pack has been posted our preparation fee is earned; we'll still refund OPG fees not yet paid out. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

The guarantee described on our guarantee page forms part of these terms for orders that include our checking and submission service.

If we get the documents wrong, we fix them and cover the wasted OPG fee as the guarantee sets out. We are not liable for losses arising from inaccurate information given to us, from decisions the OPG or courts make, or for indirect losses. Nothing limits our liability where the law does not allow it to be limited.
